Tennis shirts may be relatively plain or highly decorated.
The right decorations for a tennis shirt display an air of good sportsmanship while highlighting the individual player. Tennis, while a team sport at the high school and college level, is typically an individual or pairs sport. An "every man for himself" attitude often permeates tournaments at the professional level. This attitude sets the stage for decorating a tennis shirt. The decorations should be as individual as the person wearing it. Remember to always follow any guidelines for colors in a particular event. Some tournaments require the wearing of all-white or part-white uniforms.
Instructions
1. Pick a T-shirt made of breathable material. Cotton blends are durable and allow air flow.
2. Embroider the player's name onto the front of the shirt. This classic addition of the name may be placed on either side of the upper chest area of the shirt. Use a contrasting color thread so the name shows clearly.
3. Paint a logo on the rear of the shirt. For a player with a sponsor, or professional financial backer, this logo should represent the company or product being endorsed. If no sponsor is in place, the logo should be a personal representation of the player. Use a stencil centered on the back of the shirt and fill in with the fabric paint. Cover the majority of the rear of the shirt with the design.
