l like to do a Google image search to help get ideas first. Just think of the look you want for your hammock. From Key West to the Bahamas you can find all sorts of images and patterns to inspire you online.
2. ...Add color with paint...
At your local craft store you can find small bottles of outdoor Patio Paint to use on the wood parts of your rope hammocks. Choose at least two different tropical colors to use.
3. ...Get started...
Start painting the wood areas of the rope hammocks. Don't worry about messing up you can always paint over it. Certain colors may require two layers of paint to make it stand out against the wood. Let one layer dry before painting over it.
4. ...Protect your art...
Although some outdoor paint doesn't require it, you may want to add a protective finish. A finish such as polyurethane will help ensure that the colors stay fresh outdoors. Check labeling on products to make sure it is safe for the type of wood on your hammock frame.
5. ...Add some flair... Stand back and decide if your rope hammock has the tropical feel you were going for.
