Assemble A Simple Tiered Serving Tray

Assemble a simple tiered serving tray in minutes to give your food presentation height and style. Tiered serving trays come in a variety of materials, designs, sizes, shapes and styles to meet almost any need. Tiered trays are commonly designed to have three platters that decrease in size as they ascend. All three tiers can be filled with the same food or a selection of foods that complement one another. Put together a simple tiered serving tray to offer your guests a bite size treat before, during or after a special meal. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Clean all the pieces of the serving tray with hot, soapy water and a nonabrasive sponge. Serving trays that come into direct contact with food should be cleaned before every use.

2. Determine which tier is the base by finding the large piece with post attached in the center. Check to see if the post is secured tightly. Use an adjustable wrench or your fingers to tighten the post into the base before continuing.

3. Slide the next smallest tier of the serving tray over the post and secure its position so it is stable. Some trays have threaded bolts under each tier that can be tightened to make the level more secure.

4. Slide all subsequent tiers onto the post in order until the smallest is secured at the top. Press on the sides of each level to be sure that they are all stable and will not tip when loaded with food.

5. Screw the handle onto the top of the center post to hold the tray together and make it easier to carry to the table. If your tray does not have a handle at the top, carry it carefully by holding two hands under the largest tray at the base.
