Instructions

1. Turn on your computer and open up your favorite Internet browser once the operating system is loaded. There are many websites that will allow you to create and print a birthday invitation - some are free and some require membership. Invitationland.com and Activitiesforkids.com have free invitation creators, while firstbirthdayinvitation.org allows you to create cards for a fee. Choose a site and enter it into your address bar, or do a search to find your own.

2. Wait for the page you have chosen to load. Once it does, you will see a screen that allows you choose a basic design template for your birthday invitations. Browse through the list of available templates and choose one that fits the theme of your party or the personality of your child.

3. Choose the text that you want to appear on the card. The number of lines that you get to use will vary depending on the invitation creation site you have chosen. Include crucial information such as the date, time and location of the party first, then include other information as space will allow.

4. Choose the colors and fonts that will be used for the invitation. Some sites will allow you to choose a specific font to use, while others use only one font. You will be able to choose the colors of the borders and text on the card with every site. Some sites, usually pay-for-use ones, will allow you to add a photo to the card as well.

5. Click the "Submit" or "Create PDF" button to finalize your card and save it to your computer. Depending on the site you used, the file type may be different. Save the file to your hard drive and open it using Adobe Acrobat or a photo editing program. Once it is open, click "File" and "Print" to print them.
