Each year, the first day of summer may go by without you giving it much thought. However, this year, consider planning a celebration to commemorate the start of the season. You can choose to do something low key or go all out and plan an elaborate summer bash. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Find out when the first day of summer takes place. Summer either begins on June 20 or 21. The season officially starts on the day of the summer solstice.

2. Throw a summer themed party. Hold the event in your backyard and cook on the grill. Ask guests to bring their favorite summertime dishes.

3. Attend a Wiccan celebration. Since the first day of summer takes place on the solstice, Wiccans hold festivals to commemorate the event.

4. Go to the beach to celebrate the first day of summer. If the weather is warm enough and you live near the water, plan a beach day.
