You can wear a triple-strand necklace with almost anything.
Multistrand necklaces are a popular accessory for all seasons and occasions. Adding a floral centerpiece, such as a rose, to the necklace gives it style and sophistication. When designing your necklace, keep in mind both the color scheme of the outfit you want to wear the necklace with and the attributes of the floral centerpiece. With basic beading skills, you can design your own three-strand necklace to perfectly match your favorite sundress or shirt.
Instructions
1. Cut your strands of beading cord to the appropriate lengths specified by your design. Leave 1 inch extra on each side of your cuts to accommodate for measuring error and the extra length you will need to attach your beading cord to the metal bead tips and clasp.
2. Pass all three strands through a single bead tip.
3. Pass all three strands through the crimp bead. Leave the crimp bead as close to the end of the strands as possible, and keep the bead tip close to it.
4. Secure the crimp bead over all three strands by squeezing it with the crimping pliers.
5. Add a small dot of glue over the crimp to keep it closed.
6. Bend the two halves of the clamshell closed with the pliers. This closes the bead tip over the crimp bead.
7. Grasp a jump ring with two pairs of chain-nose pliers so that the break in the ring is positioned between the pliers.
8. Twist the pliers apart to open the ring. Jump rings are small metal rings that twist open and closed easily that jewelry designers commonly use to connect beads and other components together.
9. Thread the loop of your bead tip and half the clasp through the opened jump ring.
10. Close the jump ring by holding its ends with the two pairs of pliers and twisting them towards each other. You should now have half a clasp attached to a bead tip, which hides the crimp bead and connects all three strands of your necklace together.
11. Fold the strands in half and use a marker to denote the exact center of each strand. This is where your floral centerpiece will hang.
12. String your beads onto each of the three strands. Do not go past the center mark where your flower will hang.
13. Grab all three strands together and pass them through the hole in your central flower.
14. String the beads on the three strands that come out of the flower as indicated in your design. The three strands should now be separate again.
15. Repeat Steps 2 through 10 to finish the other side of your necklace. You should end up, as before, with all three of your strands connected to one jump ring, which connects the strands to part of the clasp. Since you now have both sides of the necklace complete, as well as both sides of the clasp, you can close the clasp to see how your final product looks.
16. Wait for 24 hours for the glue to dry on your crimp beads before wearing your necklace.
