Hawaiian Paper Crafts

Paper leis make pretty decorations.

Hawaiian paper crafts make attractive party decorations for a themed party, or just to hang beside the pool during the summer. Make Hawaiian paper craft with some brightly colored paper, markers and paint. Then hang individual flowers around your party space or put them together for a Hawaiian lei.

Tissue Paper Flower

Place several pieces of tissue paper, 8 inches by 10 inches, on top of each other. You can choose to use several different colors or just pick one. Fold the papers starting from one end like you would an accordion. Tie a piece of string or a pipe cleaner around the middle of the folded stack. Pull each piece of tissue toward the center while shaping the flower.

Paper Lei

Trace a flower pattern several times onto a sheet of paper. Repeat with a leaf pattern. Cut out flowers and leaves and then color or paint as desired. Using a hole punch, punch a hole into the center of each flower and leaf. String a needle with a piece of thread and tie a knot at one end of the string. Pull the string through each of the flowers and leaves. Tie another knot at the end of the string. Tie together to make the lei necklace.
