Hotels That Give Military Discounts

Hotels That Give Military Discounts

Discounted rates for military personnel are available nationwide at certain hotel chains. These rates are typically established by the U.S. General Services Administration and are called U.S. government per diem rates. Discounts are offered to people traveling on business or pleasure within the continental United States. Most discounts are not available in combination with other offers.

Marriott

According to the Marriott International website, Marriott is the number one hotel provider for the U.S. government. Marriott brands offering military discounts include Fairfield Inn, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, SpringHill Suites, The Ritz-Carlton and Courtyard. Federal government rates are available to active United States military personnel, but do not extend to retired military personnel or dependents. Guests must show a valid military I.D. on check-in. In early 2010, special offers were available to government workers staying at Marriott hotels in the Atlanta area.

Best Western

Best Western Hotels give discounts to all government employees, military personnel and civilian military personnel. Those lacking an official identification card can apply online for a Best Western-issued government traveler card. This must be done prior to the stay in order to receive a discount, as the card takes approximately seven to 14 days to arrive.
