Do Your Hair For A Party

Doing your hair for a party and primping for a special occasion is fun. It gives you a chance to feel good about yourself and also to try new hairstyles. Take a chance, it's only one night, after all. Try a hairstyle that's current and chic, sexy or playful the next time you head out to party. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Check out beauty magazines or celebrity photos online for current hairstyles. Know the current styles and find a look that appeals to you, especially one that works for your hair length and type.

2. Take a trial run. If you're nervous about getting it right on the night of the big event, try a few tests to see if you like it. Depending on your hair type don't wash and dry your hair the day of the event, because that might make it too silky to hold the style.

3. Get to styling. Clip up most of your hair, leaving only the bottom layer down, and style from the nape of your neck to the crown. Starting at the base, curl or straighten (depending on your hair type and the style you've chosen) in layers, working from one side to the other in small sections. After you finish each section, spray lightly with finishing spray. Then take down, re-clip what's left and continue to style and spray.

4. Spray the roots. When you're working with each section, pull the piece taut and in the opposite direction from where you want it to end up, then spray and apply the hair dryer directly to the hairspray. This adds body to your hair, that should lasts all evening.

5. If you're going with an up-do, after you finish curling, secure hair at the back of your neck with a wrapped ponytail holder. Twirl the hair around your index finger until it curls into a chignon or French twist and secure with bobby pins. Slide your fingers carefully into the crown of your head and loosen the hair for body.
