Halloween comes just once a year, so it is important to have memorable decorations. Many communities have started to hold "trunk or treat" celebrations to keep children safe on Halloween. Participants get together in a parking lot, open their car trunks, decorate the insides, and pass out candy to kids who walk from car to car. This is safer than children running through darkened streets on Halloween, knocking on strangers' doors. If you are participating in a "trunk or treat," you will need some ideas to decorate the inside of your car trunk. Here are some guidelines to get you started. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Open your car trunk.
2. Line the inside of your trunk with the black plastic garbage bags.
3. To make a fall harvest theme, place a small bale of hay in the corners of your trunk. Add a scarecrow, some fake crows, dried corn and pumpkins.
4. Make your trunk frightening by adding scary decorations such as jack-o'-lanterns, bloody or monster masks, or fabric ghosts made from sheets with eyes and a mouth drawn on with a permanent marker.
5. For fairy-tale decorations: Place a pair of Barbie and Ken dolls dressed as a fairy-tale heroine and hero such as Cinderella and Prince Charming in the trunk. Hang a poster with picture of castle on it at the back of your trunk to provide a setting.
6. Place one bag of candy outside the trunk to pass out, and place at least one or two spare bags of candy at the back of your trunk behind the decorations to give out after your first bag has been exhausted.
