Using photo invitations has become a popular practice for parties and baby showers, as it allows those throwing the party to give their invitations a personal touch. However, having photo invitations printed can prove to be an expensive process. With a little time and creativity, a professional looking photo invitation for a baby shower can be created at home. Printing them yourself will leave you with extra money to use to do those little extra things that make a shower unforgettable for all in attendance. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Create a new project in your photo editing software. For best results, use a 4 X 6 inch canvas size.
2. Fill the background layer of your invitation with a solid color, gradient or pattern using the fill tool.
3. Open the photo or photos you would like to add to the invitations. Photos can be either scanned or taken with a digital camera.
4. Copy the first photo you want to use and paste it as a new layer on your invitation. Use the layer tools to re-size, rotate and move the photo until it is to your liking.
5. Add text in a new layer that indicates who the party is being given in honor of and the important information such as the time, date, location and any additional instructions. As with the photos, use the layer tools to re-size, rotate and move the text until you are satisfied with the look of the invitation.
6. Add any additional flourishes such as clip art, text art or borders as a new layer.
7. When you are satisfied with the finished result, print the baby shower invitation on photo paper. Refer to your printer's instruction manual on properly print high quality images on photo-sized paper.
