Beach parties are full of bright colors and lots of sunshine. Even if you do not live near the beach, you can still host a beach party in your home or yard by decorating the space with sand, palm trees and surfboards. For beach birthday parties at home or at the beach, incorporate sand, surf and sunshine into the invitations. One way to do this is by giving guests a sample of items that they would find at a beach. Instructions
1. Fill a resealable zippered bag about one-third of the way with sand.
2. Place a few small seashells and a couple of plastic ocean animals such as sharks, crabs, fish, dolphins or whales in the bag.
3. Type the party information in a word processing program. Include the time and date of the party, the location, the name and age of the birthday guest of honor, and RSVP information. If guests will need to wear or bring anything special, such as a swimsuit, beach attire or a towel, include this in the invitation as well.
4. Format the text so the invitation will fit easily in your bags without folding.
5. Print the invitations on bright yellow card stock.
6. Cut the extra paper off the edges of the invitation. Alternatively, cut the paper so the invitation is a circle and looks like a sun.
7. Place an invitation in each bag, press out the air and zip the bag closed.
8. Mail the beach-in-a-bag invitations in padded envelopes or hand deliver them.
