A lifesize SpongeBob costume would be a hit at a party.
SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple in a place called Bikini Bottom. The star of the animated TV series became so famous that he got his own float at the Macy's holiday parades. He is also a popular subject for birthday parties. It's hard to go wrong with a SpongeBob themed-party as long as the color themes are right and the mood is joyful. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Retail stores have plenty of SpongeBob invitations. If you prefer to print your own, use yellow paper with blue accents to match the SpongeBob color scheme. Free SpongeBob clip art is available online.
2. Decorate the party area with yellow and blue colors. Pineapples, treasure chests, beach items and anything related to show characters should fit the theme.
3. Most of the characters in the show consume krabby patties. Make your own using grilled chicken, chicken patties, veggie burgers or hamburgers. Allow the children time to dress up their own patties. You should not have a problem finding a SpongeBob cake at a retail store. If you make your own, use colored icing to draw SpongeBob's face over yellow icing.
4. Set up games with SpongeBob themes appropriate for the age group. The website Birthday Party Ideas has dozens of suggestions, including putting a show theme on a traditional game like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. The replacement game is Pin a Nose on Patrick. Work in some games that use real sponges. One possibility is to blindfold the contestants and have them use their hands to "bob" for a sponge. The child pulling the yellow sponge wins a prize. Older children may enjoy the "SpongeBob" versions of the board games "Life"or "Monopoly."
5. Create a gift bag with "SpongeBob SquarePants" official items, such as coloring books, action figures and school equipment.
