Create Invitations For Retirement & Graduation

Create Invitations for Retirement & Graduation

Graduations and retirement parties both have a similar theme--the ending of one thing (school or work), and the beginning of something new. Both occasions are major life events and call for a party. If you are planning one of these types of parties, consider making your own invitations. Store-bought invitations can be impersonal, and custom-ordered invitations can be expensive. To create your own inexpensive and personalized invitations, all you need is a little creativity and a few supplies.

Instructions

Creating Invitations

1. Decide what you want your card to say. For example: "Tristan's Graduating" or "Help Us Celebrate Jason's Retirement."

2. Use your set of alphabet stamps to stamp the words onto your textured paper. Press the rubber stamp gently onto the ink pad, and then press again in the textured paper.

3. Stamp the phrases that will appear on the inside of the card as well. You will be cutting the phrases out, so do not worry about placement. Include directions, dress code, time and date for your guests.

4. Cut out each phrase separately. Use pinking shears to finish the edges.

5. Paste the phrases onto the card stock where you want them with white craft glue. Allow the card to dry for at least 10 minutes.

6. Add decals or other embellishments. They are available in many shapes and themes. Visit your local craft store, and go to the scrapbooking aisle. You will find many graduation embellishments, as well as retirement-themed embellishments.
