Find Free Interior Decorating Ideas For Kid'S Rooms

Decorating your child's room is a fun project. You can work with your child to create a design that is unique to their interests. Kids can also benefit from assisting in the decision making and planning process. But many parents aren't sure where to start when decorating their child's room. Here are some free interior decorating ideas for kid's rooms. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Have a brainstorming session. The first step in coming up with interior decorating ideas for your child's room is to brainstorm possible themes. Make a list of your child's favorite animated characters, activities and colors. Examples of themes could be ballet, soccer or rainbows.

2. Once you have your theme, you are ready to shop for paint. Visit your local home improvement store and select 3-4 of your favorite colors. Get a small sample of each and paint a wide stripe down the center of your child's wall. This will allow you to examine the color under the natural light.

3. Since it's not always practical to purchase new furniture, try to use existing pieces. Applying a bright white coat of paint to furniture can change the look. You can also consider purchasing a new headboard, which will change the appearance of your child's bed.

4. Add fun organizing bins. As a child gets new toys, not everything finds a home. Purchase colorful organizing bins and have your child assist in planning which items will go in each bin. Getting your child involved can also encourage them to take responsibility for getting items into their designated space in the future.

5. Creating a decorating board will allow you to visualize the finished product. You can also make changes before getting too deep into the decorating process. Include paint chips, pictures of linens and other decorating items on a large piece of cardboard.
