Firemaking is not a very essential skill in RuneScape, but an advanced firemaking level can make the game more fun. Firemaking skill level is advanced by the type of log burned. The cost of various types of logs runs from free, those you cut yourself, to very expensive. Firemaking skills can be used for pyremaking and lanterns and a 99 level will earn a player a Cape of Achievement.
Instructions
1. Start firemaking by burning normal logs for 40 experience points each. This should allow a player to raise their firemaking skills to a level 15 to 30. Oak logs are a good way to advance beyond Level 30.
2. Cut down or buy some willow logs. These add a lot of experience and let you advance fairly quickly. If a player has little money, they can continue burning willow logs and advance to a Level 99.
3. Buy or saw maple wood if you are a member. Maple is more expensive and does not add much more experience than willow so it really isn't worth bothering with.
4. Get some yew logs to move into the upper ranges of firemaking skills. The yew logs are expensive, but well worth the money to a player who aspires to a Level 99.
5. Spend money on magic logs if you are an affluent member. These logs are expensive but they add thousands of experience points to you help you reach your goal of Level 99 and earn that treasured Cloak.
