1. Decide what the flyer needs to say. If it's for an event, include date, time and place. Confirm phone numbers and emails you plan to include in the flyer before you start work.

2. There are several online tools available that allow you to create a flyer for free. Sign in to your Google account and try Google Docs. Near the top of the page, you'll see a text box where you can search for a template. Type "flyer" then hit "search templates." This brings up several choices. For example: Car for Sale or Lost Pet Flyer.

3. Once you have found the template you like, select the "use this template" button. You'll see a blank version of the template that includes graphics and leave room for you to add your own logos or photos and text. For example: The Car For Sale template, allows you to type in a description of the vehicle and a phone number. Once this is done, you can use print preview to check out the document. Save the changes and name your own file if you like what you have created. You can print directly from this program too.

4. If you don't like the available designs, use other templates available on the Google site to create your own flyer. For example, use an invitation template to create the flyer if you prefer its layout.

5. There are other sources online to help you find the right template and create a flyer. Microsoft Office Online also offers easy to use templates for various documents. The templates allow you to fit your own photograph and text to the template.
