Address Graduation Announcements

Addressing graduation announcements follows certain etiquette rules.

Graduation etiquette usually dictates how you should address your announcements. The envelopes make the first impression on your invited guests, so you should focus on addressing them correctly. Include all of the pertinent information to make sure the announcement can be delivered in a timely manner. Also, write in your best handwriting or ask someone with attractive script to help you.

Instructions

1. Address the outer mailing envelope by hand. Write addresses in blue or black ink, instructs Graduation Invitations & Graduation Party Ideas, a graduation announcement website.

2. Use formal address format. Spell out all words, such as "Street" and the state name. For example:

Dr. and Mrs. William Watkins

11200 Taylor Road

Austin, Texas 78704

3. Place the envelope holding the card into the mailing envelope. When the recipient opens the mailing envelope, he should see the front of the inner envelope, not the flap.
