Anahola is a small community on the north shore of Kauai. Located just 15 miles from the Lihue Airport, Anahola is a vacation destination for people who love sports. Golf, scuba diving, fishing, surfing, sailing and snorkeling are year-round activities in the area. Visitors can also explore the Kilauea Lighthouse, the Hanalei Valley Lookout, and the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. Because Anahola is such a small town, with fewer than 2,000 residents, there aren't many accommodations available. The Island Enchantment Bed & Breakfast is the only multi-room establishment in Anahola proper, but several hotels are situated within 30 minutes of Anahola.
Lodging in Anahola
Situated near the beach in Anahola, Hawaii, the Island Enchantment Bed & Breakfast is a 2.5-star property. Rooms feature kitchenettes with refrigerators, so guests can prepare their own meals. Breakfast is included in the room rates, but you can pay extra for personally catered meals. Lodging in Kapaa
Just about 10 minutes south of Anahola, Kapaa offers a variety of lodging options. One of the oldest hotels on Kauai, the Hotel Coral Reef was built in 1956. Originally, the hotel had just 10 rooms, but an addition expanded the number of rooms in 1966. The entire hotel has been remodeled since 2004, and there are plans to add additional luxury suites on the north end of the property. Continental breakfast is included in the room rates, and many of the suites feature Jacuzzi bath tubs, in-room refrigerators, and barbecue facilities. Guests can rent mountain bikes for exploring the area, and the hotel is situated right on the beach. Not far away, the 200-room Kauai Sands Hotel has a prime location just steps from the beach, a short walk from Coconut Market Place, and close to Wailua Golf Course. It has 6 acres of lawns and two pools with views of the beach. On site activities coordinators help guests make the most of their trips, and it is one of the most affordable hotels in the Anahola area. The nearby Aston Islander Hotel has been recently remodeled. Each room has a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. This beachfront property is half a mile from public tennis courts and one mile from the Wailua Golf Course. Grocery delivery service is available to guests who would like to cook their own food.
Lodging in Kilauea
Kilauea is a little over 15 minutes north of Anahola, and offers the Palmwood Inn, a newly constructed hotel that sits atop four acres of lush greenery. The rooms are luxuriously appointed, and guests meet for breakfast in the inn's dining room. The beach is 1.25 miles from the inn, and there is a meandering path to take you there. The Inn offers massages and an outdoor grill where guests can grill the fish they catch in the bay.
Lodging in Princeville
Just a few miles further north, about 25 minutes away from Anahola, Princeville provides even more lodging options in the area. The St. Regis Princeville Resort offers a 24-hour fitness facility, live entertainment, a children's pool and childcare, currency exchange services, and a beauty salon. In addition, the resort offers multiple choices for transportation, including limousine service and car rentals. This resort is a good choice for conferences and meetings because it has large meeting rooms and high-speed Internet service. Not far away, Alii Kai Resort offers two-bedroom condos for weekly stays. The condos offer guests everything they need for a comfortable stay. A sleeper sofa in the living room can fold out for extra guests, and guests can cook their own meals in the kitchens. Each unit has a washer and dryer. Guests can swim in the adult swimming pool and send the kids to the kids' swimming pool. Community barbecue grills are a great place for guests to mingle.
