Homemade Decorations For A Winnie The Pooh Birthday Party

You can make your own Winnie the Pooh decorations.

When you want to throw a Winnie the Pooh birthday party, decorations are probably the most important things to get right. While there are plenty of decorations available for purchase in party stores and online, another possibility is making your own decorations. You will save money and have the ability to create personalized decorations that are of higher quality. With just a few simple household items, you can whip up the decorations in no time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Paint the entire outside of a few small round vases with as many coats of brown acrylic paint that it takes for the color to be solid. You can find inexpensive vases at places like the Goodwill or all-purpose stores like Target. Allow the vases to dry.

2. Coat a medium sized, flat-headed paintbrush in yellow acrylic paint and dab it all around the top of the vase and around the top edges, allowing it to drip to look like honey. Paint the word "HUNNY" on the vases with white acrylic paint. Set the "honeypots" on tables, counters or shelves after they have dried.

3. Write "Welcome to the 100 Acre Wood!" on a brown poster board with white paint and hang it where the guests will be entering. Make the edges of the poster board appear raggedy by cutting and tearing away at the sides, and then carefully burning the edges with a lighter, if desired.

4. Dab a drop of hot glue over a faux leaf and attach it to the bottom of a faux bird's nest, found in craft stores or online. Repeat until the nest appears to be laying in a bed of leaves. Allow to dry. You can set numerous nests and loose leaves around the party area to capture a forest-like feel.

5. Print up numerous Winnie the Pooh pictures from your computer, found on the Internet. Cut them out. You can find Pooh bear photos online at sites for children, coloring pages and anything related to Disney.

6. Create collages by cutting a white poster board into four equally sized pieces. Arrange the pictures you found on the internet over each piece to create four mini collages. Use a glue stick to secure the cutouts to the poster board.

As an activity during the party, you can give the children the coloring pages of Pooh and his friends, and have them color them before creating the collage.
