Make A Palm Tree Out Of Newspaper

Palm Tree

Palm trees can be made out of newspapers in a matter of minutes. They make an easy filler craft to do during school. They also are fun to do at home with your children after school. You can make them to celebrate the coming summer season or to get excited about an upcoming vacation.

Instructions

1. Take out a sheet of newspaper and place it horizontally in front of you.

2. Take a second sheet of newspaper and also hold it horizontally. Match up the middle end of the first sheet of newspaper with the beginning of the second sheet of newspaper. Your newspaper sheets will have a crease down the middle so you can easily spot each half. Lay the first half of the second sheet over the second half of the first sheet.

3. Roll the newspaper all the way up beginning with the left side. Make your roll slightly tight, but not so tight that you can't pull the middle up later on.

4. Tape the top and bottom ends of the newspaper roll so that it doesn't unravel.

5. Pick one end to be the top. Start cutting from the top straight down to the middle. Do this six times going around the top of the newspaper roll.

6. Place your finger in the middle of the top of the newspaper roll and gently pull up until it won't go any further. This is your newspaper palm tree.
