Hold A Mother Daughter Luncheon

There is no better way to celebrate the Mother's Day holiday than by holding a mother-daughter luncheon with all the female members of your family. Invite aunts, nieces, female cousins and, of course, the mothers and daughters. Prepare the food yourself, or plan a catered event.

Instructions

1. Decide if you would like to have this mother-daughter luncheon at your home or hold it at a local restaurant or catering hall.

2. Consider having a bring your own dish. Then everyone gets to participate in the holiday event. You can set this up as a smorgasbord. If the weather is good, hold the luncheon outdoors. Make sure to get both mother and daughter involved in the preparation.

3. Try a twist on this theme. Have every mother-daughter team make its favorite mother-daughter dish. We all have made dishes from baking cookies to Thanksgiving turkey with our mothers or daughters. Select your favorite one, and bring it to the luncheon.

4. Contact caterer's in your area to check prices for their meals. It may not be as expensive as you think. Compare the price to the cost of buying the raw food and preparing it yourself, not to mention preparation time.

5. Send out invitations by mail or email a few months before the Mother's Day holiday.

6. Prepare the food, if you are holding the event at home. Depending on the menu, start preparation a few days in advance. This is a great time to involve your own daughter or mother in the proceedings.

7. Greet your guests as they arrive on the big day. If there is assigned seating, remind your guests to look for their place cards.

8. Enjoy the luncheon with your mother or daughter and the rest of your family. Happy Mother's Day!
