Waikiki is a neighborhood of Honolulu extending from the Ala Wai Canal to Diamond Head. The famous Waikiki Beach is host to surf competitions, hula dancing, outdoor performances, canoe races and many more activities year round. In the 1800s, Waikiki was home to Hawaiian royalty; today the area is known as the main hotel and resort area of the island of Oahu.
