Host A Tropical Themed Party

Instructions


Preparing For The Tropical Themed Party.


1. Create a guest list and prepare to send out the invitations.


2. Purchase or create authentic coconut invitations to deliver to your guests or use tropical or luau inspired paper invitations as a substitution.


3. Begin to gather all of your tropical party supplies two weeks prior to the party.


4. Purchase groceries to prepare your snacks and appetizers two days prior to the party.


5. Set up tables, chairs, props, games, lights and place settings the morning of the party.


Transform The Backyard Into a Tropical Oasis.


6. Use the pool as a focal point by adding floating candles and lights to surround the pool and party area.


7. Use tropical plants to surround the pool area, party area and surrounding areas.


8. Place tiki torches around the pool and party area for added flair. Light the torches right before guests are due to arrive for the party or when it starts to get dark.


9. Decorate the tables with a natural raffia or burlap table covers.


10. Choose a location to set up a limbo and a horseshoe pit for fun and games.


11. Discreetly set up a CD or music player to share reggae or other tropical inspired music for the party.


Prepare Appetizers For The Guests.


12. Decorate each table including the serving table with candles, faux tropical bouquets and banana leaves.


13. Prepare simple tropical appetizers such as fruit kabobs with pineapples and bananas, fondue with an assortment of dips, a chocolate fountain, tropical trail mixes, macadamia nuts and prepared sushi.


14. Serve tropical drinks such as Pina Coladas, Mai Tais, Banana Mango Smoothies, Blue Hawaiis and Pineapple Iced Teas. Serve the guests their drinks in tropical cocktail glasses complete with a drink umbrella accent.


15. After the guests eat, encourage them to participate in a game of Limbo with tropical music. Horseshoes can be played also.


16. Mingle with the guests to make sure they are enjoying the party.
