Decorate Buffet Tables For A Ducky Baby Shower

This happy little fellow can liven up your party decor.

A duck theme is a cute, and non-gender specific, idea for a baby shower. The bright yellow color brightens up any room and the theme makes decorating fun. Incorporating different ideas, like ducks floating in water or by using homemade banners, you can decorate the buffet table without being too over the top or elaborate. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Create the perfect duck themed buffet table

1. Drape the baby blue table cloth you purchased on top of the empty buffet table. This light blue table cloth will give the idea of water and will also be the perfect way to cover a buffet table that typically does not blend with any theme.

2. Begin randomly placing the rubber ducks you bought all around the buffet table. Make sure to leave plenty of room for the food that will be put out on the table during the party. Placing the ducks on the light blue table cloth will give the effect of ducks floating on water.

3. Use the cardstock, scrapbook paper and ribbon to create a homemade banner to hang on the front of the buffet table. Be sure to buy scrapbook pages that have a duck theme, as they will provide the background for the letters your create. Choose what you are going to write on the banner. Pick something simple like the baby's name or "congratulations."

4. Trace the letters out on scrapbook paper and cut them out. Then attach the letters to the cardstock with glue and hole punch the cardstock where you wish to pull the ribbon through. String the ribbon through the holes, attaching all letters on the same long piece of ribbon.

5. Drape the banner across the front of the buffet table, securing it with some bigger rubber ducks on each end, or simply tape it to the table cloth. This homemade banner will provide little hints of a duck theme to blend with the rest of the room.
