Decorate For An Under The Sea Party

Decorating for an under the sea theme party can be a lot of fun. Use your imagination and some simple materials and props to create party decorations that transform a room into an amazing underwater haven for your party goers. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Create some underwater bubbles. Get a bubble machine to provide a continuous supply, and use clear balloons tied together for a slightly more permanent party decorations.


2. Make or buy some green vines that look like seaweed. Hang them around the room above the doors, and drape them from the center of the ceiling to the corners of the room. You could also put some seaweed on each chair.


3. Cut star fish, sea horses and other sea animals out of construction paper and hang them up on the walls. You can also use plastic fish hanging from curling ribbon attached to the ceiling.


4. Set up a treasure chest in one corner of the room. It can be filled with buried treasure or used as a part of a party game later. Or, you could allow guests to put birthday gifts inside as they arrive.


5. Put a blue or aqua table cloth on the table. Scatter some sea shells top of the table. Fill a clear bowl with plastic fish for the centerpiece.


6. Purchase or make a pinata in the shape of your child's favorite sea creature. Pinatas are great party decorations because you also can use them when you play break the pinata.


7. Cover the lights in the room with blue cellophane paper and close the curtains if you wish. This creates a dimly-lit room, which creates an under-the-sea feeling.
