High School Graduation Party Invitation Ideas

Consider the graduate's interests when designing a graduation party invitation.

High school graduation is a milestone worth celebrating, so invite the graduate's family and friends over for a celebration. Whether your high school graduate is enrolling in college or entering the real world, he has plenty to celebrate. Your graduation party invitations can reflect your graduate's interests or look ahead to his future. Your invitations should let guests know what to expect at the party, so include all the important information. Does this Spark an idea?

College Colors Invitation

If the high school graduate plans to attend college in the fall, use her college as the theme for her graduation party invitation. Incorporate the school's colors as well as its mascot and cheers into the invitation, which will help get the grad into the school spirit even before she steps foot on campus. For example, if she is attending the University of Kentucky, choose a blue and white color scheme for your invitation---you can use blue card stock and white text. Your text can also follow the college theme. The opening of your invitation can say, "Celebrate Casey's Graduation and Welcome Her to the Wildcat Family," which plays on Kentucky's Wildcat mascot.

Photograph Invitation

Personalize your high school graduation invitation by include pictures of the graduate throughout his high school years. Along the top or bottom of the invitation, you can include thumbnail-sized images as a border. Choose a variety of pictures for the invitation, such as one from the graduate's first day of high school to images of him participating in sports or attending prom. Include his senior picture on the left side of the invitation. Use wording that reflects on the graduate's four years in high school, such as "After four years, it's time to celebrate Joseph's graduation!" Then, include the location, date, time and any RSVP information for the party.

Activity Invitation

If your high school graduate was an athlete or involved in extracurricular activities, use her interest as the theme for your graduation party invitations. For example, if she played softball, include softball-related images such as bats, balls and gloves on the invitation. Use wording that reflects the softball theme: "After four years, it's time for Madison to hang up her cleats. Come celebrate her graduation!" If your graduate was active in the drama club, you can use the classic comedy and tragedy masks as an image on your invitation. Then, use drama-appropriate wording, like "Four years later, it's time for Scott to take his final bow. Join us for a graduation celebration."
