You can host a luncheon at your church for a variety of reasons, such as fundraising, celebrating a holiday or simply getting together with a group of church friends. Decorate for your church luncheon so that it does not look like every other lunch that people attend, but so that your guests know that it is a luncheon with a religious theme or feel. You can easily decorate for your church luncheon in a way that your guests will enjoy and you can do on your own. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Set up the tables for your luncheon in a large square or rectangle so that your guests can see each other and speak during the luncheon.
2. Cover the tables with tablecloths that coordinate with the colors that you have selected for the decorations.
3. Place china, glasses, silverware and glassware on your tables.
4. Create centerpieces using large bread bowls or bread baskets. Add a clean linen napkin to each bread basket or bowl. Place all sorts of breads inside the baskets. Your guests can eat the breads during the luncheon. The centerpiece also coordinates with the fact that you are throwing a church luncheon, because Jesus broke bread with his disciples.
5. Tie a ribbon coordinating with your luncheon color palette around each chair back.
6. Place a devotional booklet on top of each plate to serve as a favor for your guests. Choose a devotional book that coordinates with the theme of the luncheon or the reason for the get-together. For example, if you are throwing a mother-daughter luncheon, select a book with devotional items about the mother-daughter relationship.
7. Create a wreath by attaching fabric flowers to a grapevine wreath and hang it on the door to the luncheon space. Paint a sign on a small piece of wood welcoming your guests and attach it to the wreath with hot glue.
