Your child and her guests will have an amazing adventure at an underwater party.
Your child's guests will go overboard for an underwater-themed party. The possibilities are endless for a great time underneath the sea. To really go all out, have your child's party at your local aquarium. If you can't do that, there are a lot of ideas that can turn your home into an underwater paradise, complete with sharks. Instructions
1. Send out sea-themed invitations. You can make these using die-cut fish or make your own fish using construction paper or cardstock. Use an ocean phrase such as "We're ready to jump into Jason's birthday" or "Go overboard at Melissa's 9th party!" or "Help Linda make a splash at when she turns 7" and fill the envelopes with colored glitter.
2. Decorate your party space for a sensational sea adventure. Hang blue and green streamers, sprinkle blue and green glitter on your table, and use gummy fish, Goldfish crackers and gummy sharks to decorate the area around the cake. Take any ocean-themed toys your child has and use those as centerpieces. To drink, serve "Ocean Water" (blue-flavored Kool Aid).
3. Help the kids construct paper-plate fishes as a fun craft activity. Take a paper plate, color it, and cut out a triangle for the mouth. Cut triangles out of construction paper and glue them on for the fins.
4. Fill bags with gummy sharks and fish, fish stickers and a sea creature squirt toy for favors. Another idea (if it is OK with parents) is to give each child a gift card for her own goldfish, along with a can of fish food. Or, you could purchase an actual goldfish for each child and place it in a small bowl as a favor. Another great favor idea is to get plastic bucket-and-shovel sets from a discount store. Fill them with sea-themed items or water toys such as water guns, sunglasses and fish squirters and stickers.
