Download Songs To Mp4 Digital Players

MP3s used to be one of the standards in audio file formats. But, as technology has improved, the MP3 has evolved into the next generation of formatting, the MP4. More and more companies are opting to release only the MP4 generation, but fortunately downloading music onto MP4 players can be done in just a few short steps.

Instructions

Get Music

1. If you don't have any CDs or music files already on your computer, you can get some to download to your MP4 player on the Internet. Simply go to any one of the websites that sell audio legitimately (you do not want to get caught pirating music, as there are now hefty fines for this) such as magnatune.com, the iTunes store or amazon.com. Follow the website's instructions for audio purchase and download. You can choose to download the MP4 files anywhere on your computer.

2. If you own CDs of music you want to download, put the CD in your CD drive. Import the audio files on the CD into your Windows Media Player library or similar software. Some of these programs have file conversion options built in. You must convert the audio file format (usually it is in wav format) to MP4 format using one of these programs.

3. After downloading or converting to your computer, check to make sure that the download or conversion was successful by opening the file in any media player that supports MP4 format. Sometimes files get corrupted during download or during the conversion process.

Download to Your Player

4. Once your music is on your computer and in MP4 format, connect your MP4 player to your computer with your USB cable. Usually the computer then recognizes the player as an external drive and you can save to it.

5. Locate the folder that has the MP4 file(s) you want to download to the player. Simply drag the file(s) from their original location into the MP4 player folder. This makes a copy of the file on the player. You also can cut and paste the files if you know that you will not need them on your computer after putting them on the player.

6. Check to make sure that the files have copied correctly by opening the files from the MP4 player rather than from their computer location.
