Decorate A Room In Sesame Street

Pre-schoolers are often fans of Sesame Street Muppets.

Sesame Street features famous Muppets, such as Ernie, Bert, Big Bird, the Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch. Decorating your child's bedroom or play room with these colorful characters gives the room an imaginative appeal that is favored by many children. It is not difficult to acquire accessories and other room decor by shopping online, at department stores, garage sales or thrift shops. The character decor is simple to match by using pastel or bright, solid colors in the room. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Paint the walls with a bright or pastel color to coordinate with the Sesame Street decor. Yellow, pink, white, blue and green are wise choices that coordinate well with the Muppets.

2. Add Sesame Street wallpaper border or a wall mural to the walls. Use the border near the ceiling or as a chair rail and the mural on the wall behind the bed or another accent wall.

3. Purchase bedding and draperies with pastel or bright shades to coordinate with your existing Sesame Street decor. Colors, such as light purple, bright yellow, pale blue, a grass green or hot pink work well.

4. Find Sesame Street peel-and-stick wall decals. They can be used not only for the walls but also to decorate solid-colored lampshades, bulletin boards, the side of a toy box or the ends of bookcases.

5. Hang a large shelf in the room to display your child's collection of Sesame Street Muppets. This keeps them off the floor and is an excellent way to enhance the whimsical look of the room.

6. Toss throw pillows in the Sesame Street colors on the bed, chair or use them as floor pillows for a comfortable place for the child and his friends to sit. This adds color to the room and provides plenty of opportunity for naps after playtime is over.
