Determine The Amount Of Drinks For A Party Of 150

Planning how many drinks to provide for a party of 150 or more can cause stress, but only if you let it. Here's a simple way to easily calculate the amount you'll need. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Do your math

1. Determine the overall number of drinks by multiplying the number of people attending the event by four. That means you need 600 total drinks for a party with 150 people. Most people drink about three drinks at a party. If you think your guests will drink more than that multiply by five or more.

2. Determine how many different kinds of drinks will be served.

3. Define the amount of a single drink for each type of drink that will be served. For example, a bottle of beer provides one drink, a 750ml bottle of wine provides about five drinks, and a 750ml bottle of hard alcohol is about 17 drinks.

4. Estimate the percentage of people that will want to enjoy each type of drink. For example, if you will serve beer, wine and hard alcohol, a common formula assumes that 50 percent of the people will want beer, 25 percent will want wine and 25 percent will want hard alcohol.

5. Check your math against a free on-line party planner.
