Cupcakes continue to rise in popularity as witnessed by the fact that you can buy them in bakeries, supermarkets and coffee shops across America. Indeed, cupcake sales are expected to rise as much as 20 percent within the next five years, according to The New York Times. A basic, inexpensive flyer that tells customers about your cupcakes and where to buy them can help bring new customers to your bakery or help you raise money for a bake sale supporting a good cause.
Instructions
1. Open a blank word processing document. Click "Save As" from the file menu. Name the flyer "cupcake flyer" and click "Save." Creating and saving a document first prevents you from losing your work if you accidentally click the document closed while working on your flyer.
2. Type and center the name of your cupcake business across the top of the page. Highlight the text and make the flyer heading as large as the space allows. Type your cupcake business slogan just underneath the heading. If you have neither a business name nor slogan, you can simply type "Cupcake Sale" and the purpose and date of the sale just underneath the heading.
3. Insert an image of cupcakes. You can take a picture of the cupcakes you plan to sell, use clip art or a generic stock photo. Enlarge the image so that it fills at least one-third of the page and center it under the flyer heading and slogan.
4. List the flavors of cupcakes you plan to sell and the corresponding prices under the image. To do so, tab to the edge of the flyer image. List each cupcake flavor followed by a comma and list the price.
5. Type the location of the cupcake sale -- the bakery address or where the cupcakes will be sold for a fundraiser -- below the list of flavors. Add your business contact information, including telephone number, website address and e-mail address, if available.
6. Print the cupcake flyer. Use a color printer if you plan to print color flyers to hang indoors. Generally speaking, most home-use color printers use desk jet ink which runs when exposed to rain. If you need to hang flyers outdoors, print a color or black and white original and have a copy shop run black and white copies.
