Make A Flyer For A Club

Make a Flyer for a Club

Making a flyer for a club can be accomplished fairly quickly and easily with Microsoft Works Word Processor. Give some thought to the image you want to convey. Paper color and texture, print color and the size and type of font you use will play as big a role as the text in the message you are trying to impart. Use a font like Vivaldi or French Script MT for a more formal look or try Curlz MT or Jokerman for a less formal print.

Instructions

1. Turn on your computer and open Microsoft Works Word Processor. Click on the "Templates" option on the top of the page. Select "Newsletters and Flyers" on the left of the page and choose a flyer template. Click on "Event Flyers" for template options from which to choose. If you do not find what you like in the "Event Flyer" section, click on the "Back" option, then the "Flyers" option to see other templates.

2. Open the template you prefer. The cursor will already be positioned at the top where the picture or clip art will go.

3. Insert a picture or clip art at the top of the page. Move your cursor up to the pull-down menus listed along the top of the document page and click on "Insert". Slide your mouse down to "Picture," then over to "Clip Art" for examples of clip art that can be inserted. To insert a picture saved on your computer, click the "From File" option.

4. Insert clip art by selecting sub-categories on the left of the pop-up menu that comes up after you select "Insert Clip Art." Choose the category that best fits the nature of your club and the event you are advertising. Select the clip art from the available assortment that is shown on the right of the menu to insert it into the top of the flyer form.

5. To use a picture that you have saved onto your computer, go to "Insert" and select "From File," and any available pictures will be displayed. Click on the picture that you want to use. It will be inserted into the form at the top.

6. Adjust the size of the clip art or picture by clicking on the image so it is selected. There will be a small black box on each side, the top, and the bottom of the picture. Move your cursor over the box until it turns into a horizontal arrow then click, hold and slide that side of the picture in or out until the picture is the right size.

7. Click on the text within the template to change the information to what you want to advertise. Position your cursor directly to the right of the text you want to change or highlight it and backspace to delete it. Type in the correct information. Continue down the page, adding information about the club and event.

8. Change the font type, color and size. Highlight the text you want to change. Go to the font options at the top left of the document. Pull down the menu from which you want to select by clicking on the small down arrow to the right of each option field.
