Make A Hawaiian Cake Design

A beach in Hawaii is easy to represent in cake form.

Hawaiian theme parties are popular with young and old. Thinking of Hawaii brings to mind pictures of beaches, seashores, volcanoes, tropical fruits and hula dancers. A cake with a Hawaiian design can represent flowers, fruits or a scene at the beach. With props, such as palm trees and toy dancers, you can create a luau theme for your cake. A pineapple upside-down cake also serves as a reminder of tropical Hawaii and can be carved to look like a pineapple as well. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Spread white frosting on the cake in a thin layer. Spread blue frosting on slightly more than half of the cake, positioning it vertically. Swirl it slightly to give it a wavy look.

2. Sprinkle brown sugar over the remaining thin layer of white frosting to give a sandy shore look to the cake.

3. Place plastic hula dancers on the brown sugar part of the cake to represent people lounging on the beach. Place cocktail umbrellas on the cake positioning them over the figurines.

4. Stick plastic palm trees on the cake at random spots to give the cake a beach look. Place gummy fish candy on the blue frosting to represent fish in the water.
