Homemade Bingo Bags

Bingo supplies can accumulate and need organization.

Bingo is a game of chance often played for fun--and profit--in church halls, senior citizen centers and other venues. If you play bingo, you know that there are a lot of supplies you bring to the games. Many bingo players buy "bingo bags," which are simply bags that have been modified to hold common bingo items and organize them for easy access. But you can save money and create your own personalized bingo bag with an ordinary tote and some sewing supplies.

Instructions

1. Buy an ordinary canvas tote bag at your local craft store, or use one you have at home.

2. Cut four pieces of canvas, each 6 inches by 4 inches.

3. Fold and pin hems all the way around each section of canvas. Make the hems about 1/4 inch wide on every edge.

4. Sew the edges by hand or with your sewing machine, and remove the pins.

5. Sew the sections to the front panel of your tote. Sew the bottom and sides only, to make pockets for your bingo daubers.

6. Cut a 12- by 12-inch square of canvas. Hem the edges the same way you did with the front pockets.

7. Turn your canvas tote inside out, and sew the pocket to the back panel on the bottom and sides only, to create a bingo chip box pocket.

8. Flip your bag right-side out again, and decorate it any way you like. For example, you can use bingo-themed iron-on transfers or fabric paint.
