Make A Sheet Waterfall

Making a sheet waterfall in your home is a fun project.

A sheet or wall waterfall can add a relaxing feature to your home. You can apply mosaic tiles, pebbles, rocks or glass tiles to the Plexiglas sheet to decorate the waterfall. Adding fish or plant to the container can add interest to the piece. The waterfall can be placed outside or inside your home.

Instructions

1. Cut the Plexiglas to the width and height you want your fountain. Keep the width of your Plexiglas in mind when choosing the container that will hold your pump, it needs to be wide enough to hold the Plexiglas.

2. Sand the entire Plexiglas sheet; you just want to lightly scratch it to give the mortar a good surface to adhere.

3. Use the trowel to apply the mortar to the Plexiglas, notch the mortar, and then apply the tile or rocks in the pattern you desire.

4. Allow the mortar to dry overnight, in the morning use the rubber float to apply grout in a color of your choice. wipe the tile with a damp sponge to remove any grout residue. Allow the grout to dry for at least 12 hours.

5. Apply the tile sealant onto the tile according to the manufactures directions.

6. Line your container with pond liner to give it a watertight seal. Put the pump into the container then attach the clear tube. Run the tube out and over the back of the container.

7. Place the Plexiglas into the container. Move the clear tubing up the back of the Plexiglas, and over the top, attaching it with duct tape. You want the tube to point down toward the container.

8. Move your fountain against a wall.

9. Place rocks and plants into the container to cover the pump, fill the container with water. Plug in and test the pump.
