Make A Makeup Party Bag

Give your makeup party guests a cute bag to take home along with their cosmetics.

A makeup party will be more fun for your guests if you give them some samples to take home in a cute, reusable bag. It might even help the party generate more sales, if this is the purpose of the party. Take time before the party to assemble the bags. You do not have to spend much money, and the project requires little sewing. The makeup bags can hold a lipstick, eye shadow, blush, foundation and a small brush or two. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Cut two pieces of reversible fabric for each bag. One piece should measure 10-by-9 inches and the other piece, 6-by-9 inches. Lay the smaller piece on top of the larger piece.

2. Match the 9-inch bottoms of the pieces together and apply a thin strip of craft glue along the inside edges on each side. Press the fabric firmly together. Let the glue dry for at least one hour.

3. Turn the bag you have formed inside out. Fold the long flap over. Cut a small slit into the center of the flap with scissors, 1/2-inch from the edge.

4. Fold the flap over. Make a mark with a pen through the slit on the spot where you will sew the button. Sew a colorful button atop of the mark. Sew the edges of the slit to prevent fraying. Place the makeup samples inside the bag.

5. Personalize the bags by attaching small tags cut out of card stock. Cut a small hole into the tag, thread a colorful ribbon through it and tie around the bag's button. Write the guest's name onto the tag.
