Make a flower garland using basc craft supplies.
When you are organizing a backyard luau, you can end up spending a lot of money on luau accessories purchased from a party supply store. One solution is to make your own luau accessories using basic materials that can be purchased from a craft store. For example, create handmade paper floral garlands instead of buying commercially produced, silk, flower garlands. This also enables you to customize the colors of each garland to match your party decor.
Instructions
1. Cut out 40 flowers measuring 4 inches in diameter from colorful crepe paper using pinking shears. Cut the petals into any shape you prefer. Pinking shears will cut scalloped edges.
2. Cut a piece of elastic thread using scissors to measure 18 inches long.
3. Insert one end of the elastic thread into an embroidery needle. Do not knot the end of the thread.
4. String the paper flowers onto the elastic thread by inserting the embroidery needle into the center of each flower. Take the needle off the elastic thread.
5. Knot the two ends of the elastic thread together. Repeat to make as many paper floral garlands as you need for your event.
