Download Music From Windows Xp To Mp4

Most MP4 players are designed to play videos, along with MP3 and other compatible audio files. If your MP4 device doesn't come with its own media-management software, you can use Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer to download music from your PC running Windows XP to your player. Before getting started, make sure your music files are compatible with your MP4 player. Some players will only read MP3 formatted music, while others will read WMA, MP3 or WAV. Check your player's instructions for compatible formats.

Instructions

Windows Media Player

1. Turn on the MP4 player, then connect it to the computer using its USB cable.

2. Select the option to "Sync device using Windows Media Player," if prompted. If not, select and open Windows Media Player from your desktop icon, or in the All Programs folder in your desktop Start menu.

3. Select the Sync tab in the right pane.

4. Drag audio files located on your computer (for example, in the My Music folder), and drop them into the Sync List in Windows Media Player.

5. Click "Start Sync." The software will download the music from your computer to the MP4 player.

Windows Explorer

6. Connect the MP4 player to the computer using its USB cable.

7. Click on the desktop Start menu.

8. Click the My Computer folder.

9. Double-click to open the drive folder that represents the connected MP4 player (for example, (D:) Removable Disk).

10. Drag music files saved on your computer and drop them into the MP4 drive folder.
