Download Music On An Mp3 Or Mp4

Music file players have experienced a surge in popularity as technology has improved.

Transferring music files from or to your portable audio player can be done easily as long as you're equipped with the proper software and a transfer cable. MP3 and MP4 players make music enjoyment on the go more convenient. These players came about with the popularity of audio file compression technology. Without MP3 or MP4 audio compression, audio files would be so large that you would only be able to fit a few songs on a portable audio player.

Instructions

1. Install the drivers required by your audio player. To do this, insert the CD-ROM that came with your MP3 or MP4 device and let it auto-play, then follow the prompts to install the software and drivers. If you don't have a CD-ROM, you'll need to download the drivers from the internet site of the maker of your device in the "support and downloads" section.

2. Plug your audio player into your computer using the transfer cable. Plug this in to one of your computer's open USB ports. Turn on the device.

3. Open "My Computer" and find a drive that looks unfamiliar to you, labeled "Removable Disk." This is most likely your audio player. Double-click this drive to open it, and find the "music" folder on this drive.

4. Copy the desired files off the audio player to your computer by selecting them and dragging and dropping into a folder. To copy files onto the audio player, drag music files from your computer audio collection into the device's "music" folder.

5. Power off the device and unplug it from the computer when finished. You're now ready to use your device or files.
