Grow A Pineapple Tree From A Pineapple Top

Even if you live in a cold climate, you can have a pineapple tree of your very own. Growing your own pineapple tree from a recycled pineapple top is easy. It makes a great project for children so that they can learn about where pineapples come from. The following tips show you take something that is usually thrown away and use it to make a great indoor tree. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Cut the pineapple top off of the pineapple with a little pineapple meat still attached to it.


2. Fill the shallow pot with potting soil. Stop adding soil 1 inch below the top of the pot.


3. Put the pineapple top on top of the soil.


4. Cover the area of the pineapple below the green leaves with soil.


5. Water the soil and put the pot in a sunny area.


6. After a few weeks, you will see shoots of vegetation coming out of the soil around the pineapple top. This is the beginnings of the tree.
