Host A Newlywed Party With The Game

A party organized around the Newlywed game can be a great way to bring both genders together.

The Newlywed game is a very social game that can set the stage for a fun party. Besides the diversion of a gathering of friends, hosting a party around an activity such as the Newlywed game is a sure-fire way for people to learn things about each other that don't typically come up in conversation. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Invite at least two other couples to the party .Conventional paper invitations can be sent, however invitations via phone, email or electronic invitation are also appropriate.

2. Read aloud the rules from the game set with the couples.

3. Decide ahead of time how the game will end. Playing up to a certain time limit or achievement of a certain point level are common ways to end the game.

4. Give each person a piece of paper and hard surface to write on.

5. Arrange the couples at the party so that the couples are seated in two lines, with couples facing opposite each other, and with men in one line and women in the other.

6. Beginning with "Round 1: Women," the host should read the first question in the game set and each wife should write down her answer on her paper, keeping her answer secret from her husband.

7. The host should re-read the question, and allow the husbands to take turns saying their answer aloud. If the husband gives the answer that his wife has written down, the couple receives points. In each round, questions one through three are worth 20 points, and questions four and five are worth 50 points. Continue according to this pattern until the wife has been asked five questions that she has written down the answers to, and the husband has given five aloud answers.

8. Begin "Round 1: Men," asking the men questions that they write down answers to, and have their wives give their answers aloud. Points are awarded in the same manner as before.

9. Following "Round 1: Women" and "Round 1: Men," ask the men to write down the answer to bonus question 1 on an answer sheet. Wives must match answers to win 100 points.

10. Proceed in this manner with round two, three and so on. The bonus question following each round should alternate between who writes down their answer and who says theirs aloud.

11. End the game when the goal has been reached.
