Give A Housewarming Party

A housewarming party is a great opportunity to bless the house with new memories.

Moving into a new home can be exciting and something you likely want to share with loved ones. Having a housewarming party can be a way to celebrate the occasion and christen the home with great memories. From the invitations to the decor, the housewarming party can go well with a little planning and consideration. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Include photos of the house with the invitation. It's much easier to look for a house than to search for an address. Additionally, print out driving directions from major highways or towns. To give an extra visual, tie a bunch of balloons to the front of the house or mailbox. Send the invitation electronically or through the mail, but make sure to include the important information such as time, date, location and any other pertinent information.

2. Plan an appropriate date and time. Send the invitations about a month in advance and about a month after moving into the new place. Avoid making it the same week as a major holiday, such as Thanksgiving, where people will be preparing for the holiday and might be less likely to attend. If you want to have it around holidays such as Halloween or Christmas, consider combining the holiday party with the housewarming party, but make sure not to have it the same day as the holiday itself.

3. Invite your new neighbors. While you will want family and friends there, inviting the neighbors gives you an opportunity to interact with them all at once in a relaxed and casual environment. Deliver the invitations personally instead of leaving it in a mailbox or mailing it. It will also give you an opportunity to introduce yourself.

4. Give a tour of the new home. Considering the occasion, guests will want to see the new place. For private areas, such as bedrooms, keep the doors closed until you personally open it to syour guests. It will let them know that rooms with closed doors are off limits. Take a few guests at a time to avoid having to make more tours than necessary and go through them as quick as possible without being rude and rushing them.

5. Focus on simple decorations. Considering the occasion, using home accents for party decor might be a better option than typical party decorations. Put out pictures of loved ones, comfortable throw blankets and fresh flowers. The best decor, however, is to have the house clean and have boxes unpacked. If there are still any packed boxes, hide them in an area where guests will most likely not see, such as the basement or attic.
