Make An Invitation In Cs4

Invitations are expensive; especially if you want to personalize them for your event. You can use Photoshop CS4 to create your own hand-made invitations that are completely original. Creating a post-card style invitation allows you to print four invitations to a sheet. You will need a sturdy paper to print to, such as card stock, and a paper cutter to divide your invitations.

Instructions

1. Launch Adobe Photoshop CS4, select "File" from the toolbar and click "New."

2. Create a new document with a length of 5.5 inches, a width of 4.25 inches and a resolution of 300 pixels per inch. This is the standard size for an invitation and will fit in a standard 5 ½ Baronial envelope.

3. Select "File" from the toolbar and click "Open."

4. Browse your computer for the image you would like to place on your invitation; double-click the image to open it in Photoshop.

5. Click on the image, hold the left mouse button down and drag the image into the blank invitation template. A copy of the image will appear on the invitation.

6. Use the "Move Tool" to position the image on your invitation.

7. Use the Photoshop tools, such as the "Brush Tool" and "Shape Tool" to add more designs to your invitation.

8. Click the "Text Tool," then click on the invitation to begin typing information about your event. You can change the font style and size using the drop-down menus along the top bar. Like images, text may be moved using the "Move Tool."

9. Click the "Layer" menu from the top bar and select "Merge Layers" once you have completed your design.

10. Save all changes to your invitation.

11. Select "File" from the toolbar and click "New" to create a second document with a width of 8.5 inches, a length of 11 inches and a resolution of 300 pixels per inch. This will create a document the size of a regular piece of paper.

12. Click and drag your invitation to the new larger document. Repeat this process four times. Arrange the invitations side by side so they will print four to one sheet of paper.

13. Save the changes to the large document as your final invitation template.

14. Print the large document to your cardstock paper. Use the paper cutter to cut your invitations, four from each sheet.
