Make An Indoor Tiki Bar

Make an Indoor Tiki Bar

An indoor tiki bar can be the perfect accompaniment to a themed party or rainy day. Although they require a good amount of supplies, it can all be found between a party store and a Home Depot. The bars are not too difficult to set up, and they can also be used for future parties. Just make sure you have a bartender and some exotic drinks!

Instructions

1. Set up the table in the location you want for the tiki bar. Make sure it is sturdy.

2. Create a roof (if desired) by drilling four shallow crevices into the tabletop for the bamboo poles. Using the hot glue gun, insert glue into each hole and firmly plant the bamboo poles into them. Take the plywood or balsa wood sheet and drill four holes into each corner to secure the bamboo poles.

3. Use the hot glue gun or staple gun to attach beach or bamboo mats to the top of the wood board. Insert each bamboo pole into the wood board. Make sure it is sturdy by standing on a bench and adjusting the roof. Add a ring of glue around the bottom of the pole where it is inserted into the hole. Attach palm fronds if desired with hot glue gun.

4. Wrap a beach or bamboo mat around the front of the table and secure with a staple gun. Use a piece of the plywood or balsa wood to write "Tiki Bar" with decorations on the sign in black marker.

5. Attach a string of lights around the top or tabletop of the tiki bar. Add a few bar stools in front of the tiki bar. With a staple gun, attach palm fronds on the sides of the bar stool, pointing downward.

6. Add extra decorations, such as exotic flowers, coconuts, candles, pineapples or lanterns. Fully stock your bar with tropical drinks, colorful glasses and paper umbrellas and assorted fruit as garnishes.
