Make a PowerPoint Jeopardy game.
Making up your own Jeopardy game using Microsoft PowerPoint can be a fun way to answer trivia questions at home or to help a class review for a coming exam. The easiest way to make a Jeopardy game with PowerPoint is to download a free template. You can then add your own categories, questions and answers and modify the template with your own colors and graphics. If you prefer, you can create your own Jeopardy PowerPoint game from scratch.
Instructions
Make a PowerPoint Jeopardy Game
1. Open Microsoft PowerPoint. In the window that pops up, choose "Blank presentation" and click "OK." In the AutoLayout box, choose the blank presentation layout and click "OK."
2. Go to the View menu and choose "Master," then "Slide Master." Go to the Format menu and choose "Background." Choose a background color from the dropdown menu and click "Apply to all." Change the font types and sizes on the Master slide, if desired.
3. Go to the View menu and choose "Slide." Go to the Insert menu and choose "Table." In the pop-up menu that appears, choose five columns and six rows.
4. Type a name for each category in each column of the top row. In the row below, type a 10 in each column. Type 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s in the rows below.
5. Select all the text in the table. Go to the Format menu and click "Paragraph." Change the justification to "centered."
6. Go the Insert menu and click "New Slide." Type a question on this slide. Add pictures if desired.
7. Go to the Insert menu and choose "Picture," then "AutoShapes." In the pop-up menu that appears, choose the arrow drop-down menu, then choose a back arrow. Adjust the size and placement of the arrow.
8. Select the arrow. Go the Insert menu and click "Hyperlink." In the pop-up menu, choose "Place in this document." Choose the first slide, then click OK. This arrow will now let you return to the main screen after you've finished the question.
9. Go back to the first slide. Select the number of points you want for this question under the appropriate category.
10. Go the Insert menu and click "Hyperlink." In the pop-up menu, choose "Place in this document." Click the slide with the question you just created, then click OK.
11. Repeat Steps 6 through 10 for each question, until all the point values in the table are linked. You may want to copy and paste your original question, then just change the question so you don't have to format the slide and add the back button every time.
12. Go to the View menu and choose "Slide Show." Test the game and make any adjustments as necessary.
