Create A Personalized Certificate Or Award

Create a Personalized Certificate or Award

You do not have to spend a lot of money on professionally printed and designed certificates. Several websites offer free award certificates you can download, personalize and print. Templates are available to fit any event--from a sports banquet to an employee recognition ceremony.

Instructions

Free Award Certificates

1. Click on a style you like from a free award certificate website.

2. Type the name of the award recipient and a congratulatory message in the form fields on the web page. Or leave these areas blank so you can handwrite the name and a message in marker or paint pen when it's printed.

3. Click on "Make It" or the phrase the website uses and your customized award will print.

4. Embellish the award with stickers to add your own personal style. Use theme stickers, such as stars and "ABCs" for a spelling bee certificate or flowers for a gardening award.

Microsoft Office Certificates

5. Select an award certificate template from Microsoft Office after calling up the Microsoft Word template page.

6. Click the "Award Certificates" link located in the "Browse Templates" box on the bottom third of the page.

7. Click on the link of an award, then press the gray "Download" button.

8. Type in a file name when the file box appears and hit "Save." The award template will open automatically in Microsoft PowerPoint. There, type the name and message onto the award template. Save your work once you are done.

9. Click "File" and "Print." Make sure you have color ink in your printer. Use a sturdy sheet of paper, such as an 8.5-inch-by-11-inch sheet of cardstock. Embellish your award with stickers.
