Create Your Own Invitation Envelopes

Design your own envelopes at home to send your handmade invitations. Make the envelopes to match the theme of the party invitation or use solid colored paper for a simpler touch. Recycle magazines, scrap paper and even wrapping paper to create decorative envelopes free. Handmade envelopes are easy to make and require only basic craft supplies you probably already have on hand.

Instructions

1. Lay the letter size paper flat on a hard work surface and then place the invitation horizontally in the center of the paper.

2. Hold the invitation in place and fold the left side of the paper in over the invitation, then crease the fold. Repeat this step with the right side of the paper.

3. Fold the bottom of the paper up about 2/3 of the way to the top and crease the edge. The invitation should be safely inside the folds.

4. Use decorative-edged scissors to cut the edge of the top and then fold the top down over the bottom part of the envelope and crease the top edge.

5. Seal the invitation closed with a decorative sticker or place a line of glue or tape on the inside of the fold.
