High school mascots encourage school pride.
High school mascots reflect school pride for students, faculty and community members. Making crafts based upon your high school mascot is a good way to express school pride. If you want to create such crafts,consider using wood, ceramics, rocks and photos to show your appreciation for your high school mascot during spirit week or for a pep rally.
Wooden Crafts
Students can use wood to create unique tributes to their high school mascot. A simple carving of the name of your high school mascot out of wood can represent school spirit. When finished with the carving, paint it with your school colors. You can engrave the year your school was first established, or the dates your school won championship titles. If the craft is for a particular team or group on campus, engrave the names of those who participate in that activity on the back of the carving.
Pottery
Create a ceramic version of your high school mascot using clay. This will be easier if your mascot is an animal. More complex mascots may require you to create a simplified version. If your high school mascot is a pirate, for example, a pirate hat or sword will be easier to craft out of clay if you are less experienced. You can also craft your high school's initials out of clay if the mascot is too difficult to create.
Rock Mascot
Stones and hot glue can be a fun and simple way to show your love for your high school mascot. To create this craft, glue rocks together in the shape of your mascot. Decorate the rock mascot by painting facial features and your mascot's clothing onto the figure. You can also create clothing out of cloth and limbs out of pipe cleaners. Add more school spirit by painting the year your school was established on the bottom of the rock mascot.
Photo Collage
High school mascots create memories for students and may appear in yearbook, newspaper and personal photos. Use these photos to create a collage of your high school mascot. Decorate the collage with words and sayings that reflect special times at the high school. You can use decorative markers and pens to add details to your mascot photo collage.
